Banff National Park
I spent a week in Banff, a large town located within Canada’s Banff National Park. It felt luxurious and was such a cool place to see. The lakes were definitely the highlight.
Lake Louise was a favorite – it’s overlooked by a beautiful hotel. One morning, we headed to Moraine Lake at 3:45 AM to catch the sunrise. It was absolutely worth it, and I’d go back to Banff just for that. Keep in mind that private vehicles aren’t allowed there, so you’ll need to book a shuttle in advance.
We also made a stop at Emerald Lake in Yoho National Park. It was surrounded by lavender fields, and you can rent canoes to get on the water. It was amazing.
We camped during our trip using my Tacoma with a truck camper. The campgrounds were huge. We stayed at Tunnel Mountain Village, which was really efficient and well-designed.
One thing I wish we would’ve done in Banff is the ice fields tour – next time.
