Copper Queen Mine Tour

The Copper Queen Mine Tour is an hour-long tour with knowledgeable guides – some of who even worked in the mine back in the 1970’s – and a ride on the original mine train!

You are given safety vests, hard hats, lights, and a general safety overview. Along the way, you get to hop off the train and view the oldest mined areas in Bisbee from the 1880’s, high-quality minerals, amazing geology, original historic structures, tools, and even the elevator that was used to bring burrows up and down from the multi-level mine that was used to haul mine ore back to the surface.

The Copper Queen Mine features the Bisbee Visitor Center, Mine Museum, and Gift Shop. Occasionally, the gift shop will have mine ore for purchase! According to the mine manager, some of the minerals up for sale were at the World’s Fair many years ago, making them extra special for any mineral or rock collector. The museum features an educational video with a seating area, informational text, photos, and maps of the mine, which is a multi-level mine over 2,000 miles long! Much is no longer accessible because the mine has not been active since 1975, tunnel collapses have occurred, and the lower levels are sumped with water. It is highly recommended to reserve your mine tour in advance, as the busy season (October – May) can book out quickly! The mine tour is educational, fun and an overall great experience that I bring my staff here each summer!
