Crank & Boom Ice Cream

Crank & Boom is the sweetest spot in Lexington, Kentucky. They are a craft ice cream shop located in the Distillery District. The vibrant building alone will lure you inside and the delicious ice cream will keep you coming back time and time again.

Gooey Butter Cake and a S’mores Sundae have been long-time favorites for us. Locally inspired flavors can be found throughout the menu like in their Kentucky Blackberry and Buttermilk, Bourbon and Honey, and the Coffee Stout which is infused with a stout beer from their neighbors at Ethereal Brewing.

Pints are also available for purchase in their store, as well, including monthly small-batch flavors. $1 from each of the small-batch pints goes to designated partner organizations, not to mention their team also packs 200 backpacks with food each week for a local school program. It is apparent that they are driven by this awesome quote by Liang Veerasethakul (owner Toa Green’s grandmother) on their website, “When you feed others, you will never go hungry.”

We HIGHLY recommend this scrumptious location when in Lexington. While you’re there, the Distillery District is full of restaurants, distilleries, breweries, shopping, live music, and more.
