Daniel Boone’s Grave

The first two people laid to rest in the Frankfort cemetery were Daniel and Rebecca Boone. Having previously been buried near their Missouri home, they were returned to Kentucky in 1845 with great admiration.

Their graves are listed on the National Register of Historic Places and overlook the Kentucky Capital and the Kentucky River. When we visited recently there we noticed fresh flowers still adorning the grave from visitors. These explorers are obviously still beloved by Kentuckians.

The Boone grave is located at the Frankfort Cemetery – 215 E Main Street, Frankfort, Kentucky.
