Driving through Rocky Mountain National Park
An early October day, we drove through Rocky Mountain National Park while making our way across the country. During the time we went, reservations were required to enter the park within a certain timeframe but luckily we got there early enough that this wasn’t an issue.
We drove Trail Ridge Road, entering from Estes Park.
Almost immediately upon driving in we spotted an elk!
The time of year was perfect to see the beautiful yellow color of the Aspen trees. We stopped on a short trail to walk through them.
Driving through the park we saw lava cliffs, expansive views, and stopped at the Continental Divide.
We recommend stopping by the Alpine Visitor Center to see incredible views and snag souvenirs.
