Druther’s Restaurant
Once a beloved southern franchise, the last Druther’s Restaurant in the world is located in Campbellsville Kentucky. Serving breakfast all day at 101 North Columbia Avenue, they are open from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, except for Sundays when they are open 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. They are closed only on Thanksgiving and Christmas days.
Charles and JoAnn McCarty opened this Druther’s in 1970. Their children Steve and Kathy, along with her husband Greg Clark, now run the business.
When we visited it was evident from their staff and regulars alike that this is a hometown restaurant that cares about their community. And we learned that the admiration reciprocated as person after person told us how much the owners mean to their community.
Oh! And the food is delicious as well. Where else can you still find the southern trinity of pinto beans, hoe cakes, and sweet tea served daily? They are famous for their fish. Their fish sandwich, served on rye was absolutely a treat!
