Dumbo to Downtown New York City
What if I told you that you can visit the Brooklyn Bridge, City Hall, The World Trade Center, Trinity Church, Battery Park, the Statue of Liberty, and more of NYC in one day? It’s true! NYC allows you to see and experience so much in so little time when you plan to navigate through the neighborhoods!
First, head over to Dumbo in Brooklyn on a Saturday or Sunday to enjoy the Brooklyn Flea. The Brooklyn Flea is an outdoor market located in Dumbo offering hundreds of vendors with art, jewelry, vintage clothing, collectibles, and more! Don’t be shy if there is rain because a majority of the shops are covered. They are open April-December 10am to 5pm every weekend.
After shopping head over to the iconic Dumbo Manhattan Bridge View on Washington St! The street will lead you to Pebble Beach, Time Out Market, and Brooklyn Bridge Park. These areas provide stunning views of the Manhattan Skyline and perfect for pictures. The Time Out Market has 21 unique food options and a roof top restaurant to visit inside. There is so much to choose from and you can’t go wrong with any option.
Once you have explored the streets of Dumbo, head back to Washington St to find the pedestrian entrance of the Brooklyn Bridge. Enjoy the mile long walk into the city with views of the Statue of Liberty, World Trade Center, Empire State Building, and the Chrysler Building. At the end of the bridge in Manhattan you will be greeted by City Hall.
While you are in the area you have the opportunity to visit Trinity Church where Alexandra Hamilton is buried and the famous Charging Bull. Then you are a few minutes from Battery Park which is home to many national monuments and views of the Statue of Liberty! To get a closer view of Ms. Liberty then you can take the free Staten Island ferry which runs every 30 minutes. Going at sunset allows the most gorgeous pictures and then on the way back you can witness the city lighting up!
