Gardens & Parks Across NYC
One of the best surprises while wandering the concrete jungle is stumbling upon a lush garden or park tucked around a random corner. There are a plethora of these that show off flowers, gardens, and pops of green across the entire city. For the smaller spaces, you can often find the local volunteers or gardeners who care for the properties when you enter the gates. There are so many stories and passions behind keeping up these glorious respites. There’s nothing like enjoying a stroll through colorful flowers, water features, and all of the shades of green after being in between large crowds and tall buildings all day. That contrast makes these types of spaces so special and grounding in the city, which seems evident as everyone seems to be slower, calmer, and happier while inside of them. PS- Central Park is, of course, worth the visit, but so are the neighborhood green spaces!
