Great Shakes

Great Shakes – what a fun stop! We just so happen to be big fans of dates, and upon finding out that Date Shakes are a thing in the area, we had to try one. Locals let us know that Great Shakes is the best spot for dessert in Palm Springs so of course we zipped in after dinner. Like Palm Springs itself, Great Shakes felt very retro, selling not only shakes but also old timey candies. We went with the Date with a Fudge Swirl Shake, Date with a Peanut Butter Swirl Shake, and the Banana Caramel Shake. They all came topped with a mini donut which was a fun touch. We enjoyed them while walking around town. We will say that the paper straws disintegrated pretty quickly but they were delicious all the same. We were excited to see that they also sell bags of local dates which we definitely snagged for our road trip. Maybe one day we will get to return and try more flavors – the menu looks SO good.
