Hotel Del Coronado
Since 1888, the Hotel Del Coronado has been the crown jewel of the island – standing tall beside the waves and glittering with stories from over a century of glamour. Known simply as The Del, this iconic beachfront hotel has hosted presidents, dignitaries, and Hollywood stars. Marilyn Monroe even filmed Some Like It Hot here, cementing its place in pop culture history.
Even if you’re not checking in for the night (we didn’t), The Del is worth a visit. Wander through the wood-paneled lobby with its sweeping staircase, sparkling chandelier, and vintage wallpaper details. Step outside to find a charming courtyard and a wide porch that practically begs you to slow down and soak up the ocean breeze.
If you want to make your visit more of an experience, The Del offers dining, shopping, and even spa treatments – all open to the public. Whether you’re here for history, architecture, or just a touch of old-school glamour, a stroll through the Hotel Del Coronado is a must while exploring the island.
