Howell Wetlands

We spent a lovely afternoon at the Howell Wetlands. This 35 acre park features a series of boardwalks and trails through marshland, the Bald Cypress Slough, Oxbow Lake, a forest and meadow.  We did see several types of wildlife on our journey. According to the park’s website, the park is a habitat for muskrats, beavers, herons, wood ducks, geese and deer. We also saw tiny turtles and loads of mosquitos!  Do not forget your bug spray or whatever you use to keep mosquitos away.
