Katy Trail Ice House

The Katy Trail Ice House has been on our list for a while, and we finally made it while in Texas!

The Ice House sits along Dallas’s Katy Trail and is known for their margaritas – they have been voted the best in Dallas! There’s an abundance of seating, inside and out. Their regular menu features burgers, sandwiches, salads, and other bites. Thursday through Sunday they also offer a barbecue menu – always made fresh daily, never carried over from the day before. We were shocked to see that it takes 18 hours to make and they only use wood, never gas.

Here’s what we went with:
Sliced brisket with German potato salad & creamed corn
Grilled cheese with brisket & tots
Pecan pie (10/10)
And of course…their famous margarita

Everything hit the spot, especially the sides, and felt very Texas. 

We love that the location is along the Katy Trail and enjoyed a little stroll afterwards.

If you’re in Dallas, we definitely recommend! It was more than a meal but a whole experience.

P.s. – if you’re visiting in the warmer months, we recommend bug spray!
