La Jolla Cove

Let us be very clear, watching the seals and sea lions at La Jolla Cove is our absolute favorite activity when visiting San Diego. They post up on the rocks and shore and we post up on the wall next to it to watch them as they hop from ocean to land, flop on top of each other, fight, cuddle, and scream. They are the most entertaining creatures and we have spent over an hour at a time watching them (from a safe distance) during each of our visits to San Diego. 

There are shops, galleries, restaurants, and parks throughout the cove that we have enjoyed as well. On a previous trip we dined on the deck of Duke’s, a Hawaiian style restaurant with sweeping ocean views. It was fun and delicious. 

There is a lot to do here and a great place to spend some time when visiting the area, especially if the sea lions are around.
