Main Street Tombstone
Main Street in Tombstone is a dirt road lined with buildings that replicate the 1800s (most were burned down in the 1900s), saloons, taverns, bars, the O.K. Corral (still original), and gunfight shows! Stop in and have a bite to eat at the famous Big Nose Kate’s, visit the Bird Cage Theatre, and see the original bullet holes in the wall at the O.K. Corral! Tombstone is all about replicating the life of the wild west, what Tombstone was like in the 1880s. When you walk on the wooden boardwalk, visiting from one building to the next, you will be greeted by the locals dressed up in old western gear, telling you about the history or inviting you to a gun show. There are many historic tours, ghost tours, and historic buildings that will make you feel like you have stepped back in time. The town hosts many events almost weekly! But if you are visiting in the summer, it is considered the slow season, and stores may close as early as 3 p.m. Many movies have been filmed in Tombstone and the surrounding area, keeping the history alive. You can also go on a horse-drawn stagecoach as well.
