MB Roland Distillery – Cave Du Bourbon
Just in time for Mardi Gras, we happened into MB Roland Distillery’s Cave Du Bourbon – which translates from into “Bourbon Cellar” or “Bourbon Vault” from its original French. And speaking of French, there are so many nods to the French Quarter of Louisiana – including King Cake and beignet mixes for people to take home.
But now, let’s discuss the main reason for our stop – bourbon! MB Roland has been distilling bourbon since 2009 in Christian County, Kentucky, just a few miles away from Fort Campbell. We tried their Old 2nd District, which is a nod to the pre-prohibition tax districts in Kentucky – as this bourbon is distilled with pre-prohibition methods as well.
There’s no shortage of whiskey, bourbon, or spirits to try at the Cave Du Bourbon. You are allowed four free samples, if you are over 21 of course. Stop by soon and tell them we said Bonjou!
