Monroe County BBQ from Hog Wild BBQ

We decided to pick up some of that famous “Monroe County BBQ” for an early dinner on an excursion to Monroe County and took it back to our Barren River Lake rental. We chose Hog Wild BBQ and weren’t disappointed. If you’ve never had Monroe County’s version of bbq, you must try the thinly sliced pork shoulder, which has been doused with vinegar mop sauce that makes it sing with flavor. We got some of that, the ribs and the chicken. The shoulder, as always, was our favorite – as were the bbq eggs and homemade potato salad that was still warm from the kitchen. In our opinion that’s always a treat if you happen to be there at the right time.
