Old Hickory Steakhouse at Gaylord Opryland Resort
There are so many dining options at Gaylord Opryland Resort! Near a dozen nice establishments under their incredible roof. One, however, towers above the rest and transports you to a southern antebellum mansion setting under the “stars” while you feast. If you ask anyone from Nashville their “top 5” steakhouses, Old Hickory at Gaylord Opryland will be on that list.
So then why did I order the pork chop instead of a steak? Me, the notorious ribeye and tomahawk carnivore?
I saw one float by to land on a nearby table and I instantly knew by sight and smell that I was in the presence of greatness. No regrets, either – it was phenomenal. Like “best ever” level pork chop in my 56 years. So, I’m sure the steaks are on par, as well, but how can I NOT get the pork chop on next visit? (And there will be a next visit!)
Lyssa had the Crab Cakes and was very happy. Overall, just a wonderful meal and a venue you won’t get anywhere else. An absolute pleasure.
If you don’t have a reservation, ask to sit in The Library at the bar and chances are you will end up at a nice pub style table, bar adjacent. It was a less than a 5-minute wait for us and certainly not bad for a “Hail Mary” walk up on a Saturday night. Just wow.
