Ovens Natural Park

Rising to fame during the 1800s gold rush, this privately owned piece of ecological beauty never went back into the unknown. Visit to hike along the cliffs to the incredible sea caves (similar looking to ovens when viewed from the water, hence the name) to see the blue waters, feel the almost spiritual presence of nature, hear the echoing soundscapes, and grab some unreal photos. While visiting the park, make sure to dine at the tasty restaurant, The Ol’ Miner Diner. This delicious spot overlooking the ocean features local market-to-table dishes, fresh chowder, famed fish & chips, amazing bread from a nearby bakery, and is open for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, many times with a side of live music! This is a can’t miss in the Mahone Bay area and is the perfect, inexpensive half day activity (adult tickets are $12)! Camping oceanside on-site and authentic gold panning (supplies can be rented or purchased in the gift shop) is also available. Find more about Ovens Natural Park here
