Paddle Boarding Lake Tahoe

Paddle boarding Lake Tahoe is one of our favorite road trip adventures thus far – even with hiccups!

One July day while in Lake Tahoe, we decided to paddle board. We chose SUP Tahoe as our outfitter. They were super friendly and helpful with getting up set up, and had good recommendations. Getting our paddle boards was a very seamless process. We headed to Baldwin Beach where we planned to paddle, however the line just to get into the beach was extremely long. We learned that once the parking lot is full, they don’t let anyone come in until someone comes out. After testing the idea of walking, we decided against it with the heavy boards. SO we ended up waiting well over an hour to get into the beach. Thankfully we paid to keep the boards for the day rather than a few hours.

Once we made it to the water, we had the best time paddling around for a few hours. The water below us was crystal-clear. We opted to stay near the beach and out of the way of the boats, but it would be fun to do some exploring with them, too! We would highly recommend paddle boarding if you’re visiting Lake Tahoe in the summer, and using SUP Tahoe if you’re in the South Lake Tahoe area.
