Pamela’s Diner

Pamela’s Diner is a Pittsburgh icon. We got the chance to dine at their location in the Strip District during our visit. There was a wait which was almost certain to happen, but it was less than half an hour and definitely worth it. We spent the time taking in the historic buildings and vibes around us, and deciding what we were going to order.

Upon going inside, we found the walls filled with photos and articles from over the years, including those of the Obamas’ visit to Pamela’s and when the owners, Pam and Gail, made their famous hotcakes at the White House.

We went with the Croissant French Toast, Pamela’s Famous Strawberry Crepe-Style Hotcakes, lyonnaise potatoes, eggs, rye toast, and bacon. Not a thing disappointed and we would recommend it all, but if we had to choose one thing to return for, it would be the Croissant French Toast. Other items that you will find on the menu include Kielbasa and Eggs, Corned Beef Hash, Belgian Waffles, and more.

Pamela’s is an icon for a reason.

P.S. if you have a long wait, grab a coffee to enjoy from La Prima!
