Paradise Meadows Orchard & Bee Farm
Our most unexpectedly wonderful adventure on the Big Island was visiting Paradise Orchard Meadow & Bee Farm. On our way back from the Southernmost Point, we stopped here. It was the kind of quaint stop that inspires and fills the soul.
The farm is full of ducks, chickens, parrots, fruits of all kinds, greenhouses, a aquaponic system, art, and the delightful Penny Pig. All so impressive. Despite the pouring rain, we most enjoyed spending a few moments with Penny, who showed up on the farm by herself as a piglet.
In the store front, we sampled macadamia nuts, coffee, honey, and other treats with the very kind Raccine and snagged a few bags of nuts to take with us. There were varieties covered in chocolate, garlic and parmesan, cinnamon and sugar, and many more.
If you’re making your way from the airport in Kona to Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park, take the small detour to stop here – it’s worth it!
