Rose Tree Museum
The world’s largest rose bush (White Lady Bankisia) is located in Tombstone, AZ, near Main Street. The rose bush was brought over from Scotland and planted in Tombstone in 1885. The bush still thrives and has been with the same family since 1916, now covering over 9,000 square acres, and the trunk is over 14 feet in diameter. Each spring season, the rose will bloom with tiny white flowers, and the museum will host a festival celebrating the rose bush. The rose has also been featured in Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Occasionally, the museum will sell cuttings of the rose bush as it is trimmed back each year. I brought my friends Kelli and Hillary here when they were visiting me in town. We all enjoyed the educational Rose Tree Museum and the garden area with a visit from the museum cat.
