Ruth B. Kirby Gilchrist Blue Springs State Park
We love a good state park and this one did not disappoint. We went straight to the largest spring in the park, the Gilchrist Blue. There were volleyball games being played, picnicking along the shores, paddlers heading out and swimmers galore. This spring is a large second-magnitude spring that produces an average of 44 million gallons of water per day. The park is open 8 am to sundown daily and there is a per vehicle charge for entry.
