Serendipity Soda & Sweets
After a little time in Serendipity, it’s easy to see why everyone is smitten.
Serendipity Soda & Sweets was previously an apothecary in 1895. It has just re-opened after three years of the most thoughtful renovations we have ever, ever seen.
We hung out with one of the owners, Brad, who proudly showed us the entire place including their soon-to-be-famous SweetEasy – a play on a prohibition era speakeasy.
With over one hundred years in continuous operation this new iteration offers housemade ice cream, scoopable cheesecake, baked goods and a small menu of savories as well. While we didn’t taste it all, we feel confident saying we don’t think you could get a bad bite.
Brad and his partner have also been avid antique collectors for years and have an entire section of Serendipity dedicated to the items they have for sale.
So yes, you read that right – this is a place you can hang out, eat ice cream, and shop through rooms of interesting items that they just aren’t making anymore. And what’s that we hear? Yes, it’s an antique player piano providing the soundtrack to your time at Serendipity.
Remember when we mentioned thoughtful? Well, they’ve been considering your visit for years now as they’ve renovated with delighting you in mind.
