Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill

We cannot say enough about the calm that Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill offers their guests. Top-notch hospitality, garden-to-plate deliciousness, loads to learn, and tours and trails to choose from.

Lovely accommodations are available in the Village. The Old Stone Shop quickly became one of our favorite places to stay. It is the perfect room for 2 and true to the Shaker aesthetic. We stayed across the hall from the common area where we played games at night. The common area also has a microwave and refrigerator for your convenience.

You can enjoy a locally-grown meal with Shaker-inspired dishes and an alcoholic drink at the Trustees Table – their on-site restaurant. We haven’t met a single item here we don’t love. We recently attended the Holiday Luncheon, a 3-course meal offered during the month of December. Every bite was perfect and in tradition of the Shakers, they welcomed you warmly and served you thoughtfully.

Events are hosted throughout the year – we have attended the Spirit Strolls in October that show you a different side of the Shaker community here, and Illuminated Evenings in December which sparked holiday joy in our hearts. We sang together, lit candles with those around us, warmed ourselves by the fires, crafted, toasted marshmallows, sipped hot chocolate and cider, enjoyed the stories of Mrs. Claus, climbed aboard the Jingle Bell Express, shopped, listened to lovely live musicians, visited with Santa, strolled the beautifully lit village, and more. It is a must-do December road trip.

We absolutely love that there are over 30 miles of multi-use trails in Shaker Village’s 3000-acre preserve of streams, forests, and wide open spaces.

As you can see, this is a high recommendation from us!
