Spending Valentine’s Day in Sacramento
Since being in Sacramento, we have discovered so many sweet things to do in a pair. Here are some of the things we have loved that we think would make for a great Valentine’s Day.
One of the first places that we discovered in Sacramento was Beers Books. A nice bookstore compiled of new and used books with ACTUAL reasonable pricing. This is a great stop anytime, but on Valentine’s Day, you can browse books with your honey and feel like you are in a romance novel.
There are a plethora of coffee shops in Sac so it could be sweet to grab a coffee with each other and skim through your new books, or maybe head to Old Sac and walk along the river and in and out of the shops, or you could just sit and learn more about each other (no matter how long you have been together) at the coffee shop of your choice. I suggest Temple Coffee on K Street if you want things to be more romantic. They have large windows with dim lights and soft jazz music playing.
One thing we have been pleasantly surprised by in Sacramento is the food. Almost everything we have had has been exceptional and I’m not sure I can say that about any other city I’ve been to. They have also been named the Farm to Fork Capital of the nation! With that being said, I think it would be hard to go wrong for dinner, but I must suggest The Rind for Valentine’s Day. It is a cheese-based restaurant and wine bar. It is tiny and cozy and is home to the nation’s best grilled cheese: The T-Brie-D which is so very yummy. They also have a variety of other grilled cheeses, mac and cheese, and cheese boards. The Rind actually does have some vegan options, too! While they have great dessert, I will have to give you the option to skip and go to Rick’s Dessert Diner (or just have dessert at both). There is nothing more Valentine’s Day than this retro diner serving up amazing cakes. If you take any recommendations from this blog, let it be Rick’s.
Happy Valentine’s Day!
