The Rustic Inn

The Rustic Inn is a super popular restaurant, so plan to wait a bit no matter the time of day. We arrived at 2:30 pm on a Thursday and still waited 30 minutes for a table. No worries though that gave us time to enjoy their front deck – discuss the adventures we had just had and even look around a bit in their gift shop!

We started with warm drinks and their walleye cake appetizer.  We could have honestly stopped there and been completely satisfied.  They were full of flavor, but still allowed the walleye to be the stars of the show.  The side of pickled cabbage was equally fabulous and a delightful surprise.  We had their walleye piccata, smoked salmon sandwich and their fish tacos. All great fuel for the rest of our day of adventures on the North Shores.

Oh!  And if you love sweets – their truffle cases were FULL of treats.
