Tombstone Courthouse State Historic Park

What was once the county seat, the two-level courthouse now stands as a historical marker for Tombstone and also for Cochise County, AZ. Built in 1882, it contains a courtroom, jailhouse, sheriff’s offices, gallows and a courtyard. It remained the county seat until 1929, when it was moved to Bisbee, only 30 minutes away. Today, it is under the direct care of Arizona State Parks, with four park rangers, to preserve its rich history by selling tickets to visitors for self-guided tours and operating a gift shop. The exhibits showcase the rich local history, historic mining operations, how ranching has changed over the years, and even a gallows. Plan to spend around 1-2 hours if you want to make the most of your time at the park.
