Women’s Beading Co-Op

The Women’s Beading Co-op is a must-visit if you’re looking for souvenirs that actually mean something. Most of what you’ll find here is jewelry, but there are also beautifully crafted change purses, keychains, and other handmade pieces, all created by local women. Eighty percent of each purchase goes directly to the woman who made the item, while the remaining 20% supports the co-op by funding supplies and materials. Step inside and you’ll find a group of women sitting around a table, beading and chatting together, which gives the shop a warm, welcoming energy. Even with a language barrier (we spoke only English and they only Spanish), our group had a genuinely lovely time and left with pieces we’ll actually treasure.
