Journals / North Carolina / Great Smoky Mountains National Park
Through the years we have road-tripped several times to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
On the North side of the Park, we camped in Townsend along the Little River where we tubed the summer day away. We have stayed in cabins in Wears Valley, Sevierville, Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. We have hiked to waterfalls, eaten pancakes until we were stuffed and had exhaustive game nights filled with laughter.
We have also road-tripped to the south gateway of Cherokee, North Carolina. While there we enjoyed the Mountain Farm Museum, stopped by the Oconaluftee Visitor’s Center and spent quite a bit of time just watching the Elk herds in the prairies near the visitor center.
