Sylva is one of the North Carolina Mountain Towns of Jackson County, in the far western part of the state. It has quite a pronounced elevation shift right in their downtown and of course a creek running alongside the town.
This particular one is Scott Creek, and it just so happens to run right beside a tiny, but fierce restaurant named Dalaya Thai Cuisine. We cannot wait to tell you more about their fearless chef who was just nominated as a 2024 Southeast Semi-Finalist for the James Beard Best Chef Award.
Sylva is also just a few miles from the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, one of the most popular national parks ever.
