Lexington, Kentucky is known as the “Horse Capital of The World” for it’s rich history in thoroughbred racing and breeding. Not only is the city is surrounded by beautiful horse farms but it is also home to Keenland, an elegant world-renowned racetrack where bets can be placed and history can be explored in the library.
Lexington is more than just horses though. It is home to the University of Kentucky which has a lovely art gallery and arboretum, and whose athletics are a large part of the local culture. The downtown is vibrant and abundant with restaurants and bars. Local distilleries, breweries, ice cream, a live music hall, and more can be found in the Distillery District. Upscale shopping can be done at The Summit. Plays can be watched at the Opera House and history can be uncovered at the Ashland Estate. Not to mention the city has a sprawling vintage store scene.
Saddle-up, its time to run for Lexington.
