Liberty is the first trail town on the Green River of Kentucky, named by veterans who valued Liberty above all and home to a community of those who still value freedoms for all today.
Their river miles, trail opportunities and wide open spaces are waiting for you, in this Gateway of the Green. We have spent a few days in this community and have found it charming each time. They seem to have a forward momentum among their locals as new businesses have opened and a lively art scene is evident in the town.
Our favorite experience there has been kayaking Lake Liberty in the rain. We cannot promise you the same adventure of course – but it was a fabulous time. We enjoyed staying downtown, where everything is within walking distance. Any time a breakfast crawl is possible. We are in!
