Journals / California / Solano County: The North Bay
Solano County, California is the North Bay. It is known for the picturesque landscapes and lovely vineyards. It is just enough outside of San Francisco that it isn’t too busy but still plenty accessible from the city. The counties notable towns are Vallejo, Vacaville, Fairfield, and Benicia, each offering something different in their history, landscape, dining, and attractions. Solano County is home to Suisun Marsh, one of the largest coastal wetlands in the country; Mare Island Naval Shipyard, Lake Solano Park, Lagoon Valley Park, the Jelly Belly Factory, and more!
