Lake Barkley State Resort Park

Lake Barkley State Resort Park‘s lodge is extremely impressive and architecturally interesting! It is post-and-beam construction with expansive glass windows offering stunning views of the lake. There are two floors of lodge rooms on the edge of the lake, most providing amazing water views. Another spot to admire the lake is in the restaurant. There is a nice menu with several options as well as a buffet available at times.

The lodge has a lake side outdoor pool, and we love that there is also an indoor pool for those rainier days. Speaking of rainy days, their fitness center offers racquetball along with its gym equipment. Adjacent to the fitness center, tennis and pickleball courts can be found. There is also a great indoor nature center that shouldn’t be missed during a visit – definitely drop in and spend some time learning about Kentucky’s wildlife. Fishing, boating, camping, hiking, golfing – the list of things to do here goes on!

It is worth noting that this state park is right across the water from Land Between the Lakes. There are many activities to check out in the area such as the planetarium at the LBL visitor center and bison viewing.
