Olde General Store

The story of the Olde General Store began in the late 1920s when the owner’s great-grandfather opened a store in Wax, Kentucky. Running a general store evidently got in the blood, as the current owner is the fourth generation to own/operate such an establishment. This location was actually opened by his grandfather decades ago.

They bill themselves as, “the most unusual store in Cave Country!” You’ll find a great mix of antiques, gifts, Minnetonka “Indian” Moccasins, handmade baskets, turquoise jewelry, an assortment of souvenirs, crafts, and other old stuff!

Our persona; fascination? Their decanter collection. They sure don’t make stuff like that much anymore.
