Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk

The Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk is over 100 years old and still popping. We knew we wanted to visit (it is Santa Cruz’s most iconic spot), but we honestly didn’t expect the quality of the experience. We were blown away by how clean, authentic, and well-maintained it felt. Even the employees seemed genuinely happy to be there, which made the whole experience better.
The Boardwalk is packed with classic rides, little shops, and plenty of tasty eats. We caught live music and a magic show happening in the middle of all of it.
We had to ride the Giant Dipper – the legendary wooden roller coaster that’s been operating for over a century. We also braved the Haunted Castle, then took in ocean views from the Sky Glider. We missed The Cave, which is a favorite for many so make sure to check it out while you’re there.
We couldn’t leave without trying the Boardwalk’s signature treat: the Chocolate Dipped Sandae – chocolate malt ice cream sandwiched between two graham crackers, dipped in chocolate, and rolled in crushed almonds. Delish.
If you’re heading to Santa Cruz, the Beach Boardwalk is an absolute must.
