The Jelly Belly Factory

The Jelly Belly Factory was an unexpected venture for us. We were in the area and saw that tours were $8 so we thought, “why not?” The Jelly Belly Factory is located in Fairfield, California. Upon entering, we knew we made the right choice. It was so colorful and fun to look at. There was jelly bean art of Harry Potter and Star Wars characters as soon as we walked in the door. The gift shop is free and a wonderful experience alone. All the Jelly Bellys you could hope for are there in front of you from classic cherry to buttered popcorn and collaborations with Krispy Kreme and Barbie. Jelly Belly is the maker of the Wizarding World treats so if you’d like to escape into a Harry Potter fantasy land, they have all the chocolate frogs and butterbeer flavored beans you need. Of course, they have fun Jelly Belly merch, too. There is also the Chocolate Shoppe in the gift shop where chocolatey goodies are made for you. Pro-tip: get the chocolate covered bacon, you won’t regret it.
The factory tour is self-guided. We strolled along a walkway above the factory where the jelly beans are made, packaged, and sent out into the world. There was audio, signs, more impressive jelly bean art, and games along the way.
Two things that we didn’t make it to during our visit was trying the cafe, and the museum which is included with your ticket via train ride.
