Shelby County, Kentucky
A short eastward road-trip out of Louisville will place you right in the heart of Shelby County – home to two bourbon destinations: Bulleit Distillery and Jeptha Creed Distillery. These two beautiful rural campuses are not to be missed. And in between these two you will find the Claudia Sanders Dinner House, frying chicken the Sanders’ way since 1968.
Shelby County is renowned for its equestrian heritage as well, home to world-class thoroughbred horse farms and the annual Shelbyville Horse Show, a beloved event celebrating the area’s equine tradition.
We haven’t visited during the Horse Show yet, but it is on our list!
